As is tradition, every March 5 marks the World Day of Energy Efficiency (EE), established during the first International Conference on
This date is considered a day to reflect on the importance of using energy more efficiently and seeks to create awareness about its care.
In line with the above, it is worth noting that since February 2021 in Chile we have our first Energy Efficiency Law, which seeks to promote energy management in large consumers, in addition to establishing the goal of 5.5% of reduction of energy consumption by 2030 and 7% by 2035, among other aspects.
Thus, in a world that is advancing steadily towards sustainability, the use of clean energy - an area in which as a country we have great potential to be at the forefront - today it is more necessary than ever for both companies and citizens to be able to assimilate and take advantage of the attributes offered by EE, encouraging rational and efficient use of energy resources.
At Hidronor we are committed to this crusade and, in order to contribute to this objective, we have a Biogas plant (located in our sanitary landfill in the Biobío region) where we generate electricity from household waste that we deposit there, contributing with this to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and injecting more than 6,000,000 kWh of clean energy into the distribution system.
To learn more about how we do it, we invite you to review one of the most recent interviews to our Sales and Marketing manager, Juan Andrés Salamanca, where he explains this.
Taking care of the use of energy, we take care of the planet!
