With the aim to strengthen the knowledge and response capacity for an effective emergency management involving hazardous substances (HAZMAT, in its English acronym for HAZardous MAterials), Hidronor Chile’s Emergency Brigade team remains in constant training.

As an example, during June a practical and theoretical Training was carried out with an emergency drill called "HAZMAT emergency response", conducted by Antofagasta’s Sixth Fire Company, at the Hidronor plant located in the same region.

This type of activity is part of an agreement established between both entities all through the year 2021, and is based on the requirements of the Labor Laws, article 184, paragraph 2: DS76, P-GEN-SGI-0-008 Emergency Preparation and Response.

“Thanks to this management, today our Emergency Brigade has acquired knowledge recognition, HAZMAT emergencies identification, types of HAZMAT personal protection elements, electrical risks emergency control, pre-hospital care, handling hazardous chemical substances awareness, among others”, highlighted Stephanie Cores, expert in Risk Prevention for the Northern Region of Hidronor Chile.
