Today a large percentage of companies in Chile -and the world-, regardless of the industrial sector in which they work, generate hazardous industrial waste that, by regulation of the Ministry of Health (Supreme Decree 148 entitled "Sanitary Regulation on the Management of Hazardous Waste") must be disposed of or treated correctly in order to impact the environment as little as possible.

Under this premise and aware of the serious consequences that inappropriate waste management can have for the environment and people's health, the company Faenadora San Vicente -part of the Agrosuper group- organized a sustainability fair between the 4th and November 7 of this year with the objective of disseminating among its collaborators and suppliers the best practices associated with the correct management of hazardous and industrial waste, as well as what is related to the recycling and revaluation of all those wastes that are generated in the supply chain. processes.

Among the different invited companies and exhibitors at the event, at Hidronor we participated in this meeting, explaining to those present what it consists of and how we correctly revalue the used oils generated by industrial processes, thereby strengthening our position as a Strategic environmental partner with coverage throughout Chile in the management and treatment of industrial and hazardous waste for different types of industries.

Thanks to our energy revaluation services; waste recovery and recycling; remediation, sanitation and recovery of contaminated land; treatment and final disposal of waste, among others, we contribute to the mitigation of climate change and environmental sustainability.

“In short, this initiative allowed us -as a company- to provide information about our environmental solutions to more than 2,000 workers at the Faenadora San Vicente industrial plant, located in San Vicente de Tagua Tagua. For information purposes, it is worth noting that, for a waste to be considered hazardous, it must have -at least- one of the following characteristics: acute, chronic or extrinsic toxicity; inflammability; reactivity and corrosivity; and, to determine it, it is necessary to carry out a series of analyzes that allow the identification of the characteristics of each one and its possible treatments, as well as the necessary safeguards and care to consider in its management.
