LinkedIn

Various ministerial authorities began the participatory process for the preparation of the preliminary draft of the Sectoral Plan for Climate Change in Mining.

The initiative responds to the country's goal of achieving carbon neutrality and resilience to climate change by 2050, in line with the series of management instruments for climate action proposed by the Climate Change Framework Law enacted last year and which establishes responsibilities. and obligations to 13 ministries and all regions and communes of the country.

From the Ministry of Mining they pointed out that “mining being a relevant sector for the Chilean economy, it is also crucial to face the great challenge that climate change implies in the world. “More and better mining is needed to provide the minerals that the energy transition requires and Chile is a key actor.”

As Hidronor we celebrate this initiative that will further strengthen this key industry for the Chilean economy, since we serve more than 85% of the companies of this type that operate in the country, accompanying them in the handling and management of the waste they generate, as well as such as the remediation and sanitation of land contaminated by said industry.

Over the years we have transformed into a leading company and thanks to our processes we contribute to the circular economy and sustainability of Chile, being part of the new industrial generation that will help us together combat climate change.
