On Friday, November 24, ASIQUIM Sur successfully organized the latest edition of the Responsible Care Seminar under the motto “The Chemical Industry and its Commitment to Sustainability.” The event, which took place at the University of the Americas UDLA, brought together experts representing government, academia and industry to address the challenges and goals in pursuit of sustainable development.

This seminar is part of the global Responsible Care® initiative, promoted by the International Council of Chemical Associations ICCA, which seeks to promote responsible practices in the chemical industry. The focus of the day was centered on the voluntary commitment of chemical companies, known as Responsible Care®, through which they commit to constantly improve the production, handling, distribution, use and disposal processes of their products.

Among the interventions we highlight the presentation of Óscar Reicher, Seremi of Environment of the Biobío Region who shared key perspectives on the importance of sustainability in the region; and Sergio Barrientos, general manager of ASIQUIM, who addressed the responsibility of the chemical industry in caring for the environment.
