Did you know that this law requires companies that produce priority products to take charge of these once their useful life is over?

Well, what this law seeks is “make hazardous waste an opportunity rather than a problem”Says Pablo Badenier, Minister of the Environment. Since, "a recycling management produces a better management of hazardous waste, energy and raw material savings, as occurs in countries of the European Union", concludes Badenier.

One of the goals of this regulation in Chile is to set a precedent by setting goals for the collection and valorization of dangerous residues, thus creating new businesses and decreasing their final disposition.

Currently, there are 36 countries that apply the REP law for the management of hazardous waste.

In our country, it is currently in the Senate waiting to be approved before the end of the year.
