The National Geology and Mining Service (Sernageomin) published a Methodological Guide for the Chemical Stability of Mining Sites and Facilities, so that they design and schedule the closure of their work while they remain active, thus achieving more efficient closures.

In statements from the Sernageomin, they assure that this Guide “is a road map for the gestión ambiental, which includes methodologies, technologies and guidelines that support the work of the auditors ”.

In addition, it contains a Register of Technologies, to prevent, control and treat drenajes mineros, plus a Compilation of Good Practices, with lessons based on similar experiences from different parts of the world.

It should be noted that the Mining Facility and Site Closure Law obliges sites to value and guarantee closure measures in accordance with a risk analysis for the physical and chemical stability of the sites.
