The Sustainable Consumption and Production Program (PNCS) was approved in the last Council of Ministers for Sustainability, during the month of July 2016. It should be noted that this group is made up of 16 state entities, in addition to being advised by an Advisory Committee made up of Sofofa, Fundación Chile, Codelco, CUT and the Federation of Tourism Companies.
This program seeks to permeate the public policies of the different entities of the State and the private sector with sustainability. The Ministry of the Environment also proposes and coordinates sustainable growth based on certain lines of action, defined as: construction, industry, consumer information, the food system and tourism.
The goal of the program is to execute a two-stage plan. One from 2016 to 2020 and the other from 2020 to 2025. For this, 158 environmental initiatives are already defined in the various lines of action, in a document prepared by the Ministry of the Environment.
