On June 6, our Pudahuel Plant received a visit from a group of fifth-semester students from Duoc UC's Risk Prevention Engineering career, led by its professor of Waste Management and Industrial Emissions, Andrea Alfaro.
“As part of their training, our students must know the processes that are carried out during waste treatment and, as Hidronor is the national benchmark in this matter, we asked them to receive us to see in the field how these activities are carried out. After the visit, We can only say that the experience was positive from every point of view ”, the teacher points out.
“The chemical engineer who accompanied us gave us a clear explanation about each of the steps that are followed, and we were able to see how the operations are developing. In addition, we received a talk on risk prevention, which left the students delighted. For me, as a teacher, this activity was extremely beneficial, since it gave rise to a more effective learning, applying all theory to practice ”, he adds.
Alberto Gutiérrez, corporate coordinator of the Integrated Management System (SGI) of our company, who was in charge of receiving Duoc UC students and accompanying them during their visit, explains that this activity is part of Hidronor's open door policy , which is always ready to show and contribute in what it does best: comprehensively manage waste, delivering an environmental solution for the country.
