The draft Modification of the Sanitary Regulations on the Management of Hazardous Waste (DS 148/2003) incorporates definitions from the REP Law (Law 20,920), seeking that both regulations work together. Among the modifications to be incorporated are recovery, manager, recovery facility, hazardous waste transfer facility (RESPEL), energy recovery and co-processing.
From the beginning, Decree 148 (promulgated in 2003) has aimed for Chile to have a sistema de captura y estandarización de información para trazar la disposición adecuada de los RESPEL a nivel nacional.
For support the acceleration of the knowledge of this modification and collaborate with companies in the sector can fully comply with the regulations, Juan Andrés Salamanca, manager of Hidronor Chile Sales and Marketing, detailed the changes and recommendations of the law to facilitate its knowledge, implementation and use.
