Within the framework of the XXII United Nations Summit on Climate Change held in Morocco, it was announced that as of January 1, 2017, the new Chilean Climate Change and Sustainability Agency will begin to operate.
This new institution will aim to materialize significant changes in the territories and productive sectors, thus promoting a transformation towards a low-carbon economy and lower Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions.
"This will be key for the implementation of the strategies approved by the Council of Ministers for Sustainability, among them, the recently approved adaptation policies that are an articulating axis of the climate action of the Government of Chile," said Pablo Badenier, Minister enviroment.
