This document sets the guidelines for the 2017-2030 period in terms of Biodiversity with the aim of safeguarding the country's natural heritage, reversing or reducing the loss or degradation of biodiversity and promoting its sustainable use in development, all this with various cross-cutting instruments and participatory.

The National Biodiversity Strategy 2017-2030 has five strategic objectives with which it is expected, mainly: to promote the sustainable use of biodiversity for human well-being; develop awareness, knowledge and participation of the population in the protection of biodiversity as a source of well-being; and lastly, protecting and restoring biodiversity and its ecosystem services.
