Proper waste management is essential for caring for people and the environment and, therefore, a necessary condition for the sustainable development of the industry and the country. That is why among the tasks of Hidronor - a market leader in revaluation, treatment and final disposal - is not only the provision of services of high quality and safety standards, but also training to its clients.
In this context, on Tuesday, January 15, a team of specialists from this company visited the facilities of Molibdenos y Metales S.A. (Molymet) to train its workers on the application of S.D. 148/03-MINSAL, related to the management of hazardous waste, seeking to contribute, as a specialist company in the matter, to safety and care of the environment.
Some of the topics that were addressed were how to precede to identify or classify a hazardous waste; the review of the minimum requirements for proper storage, transport and final disposal, and the minimum requirements that all those responsible who are part of the waste management chain must meet.
Additionally, the company's recovery alternatives were reviewed within the scope of the REP Law, which establishes the framework for waste management, extended producer responsibility and promoting recycling.
