In order to talk about how the inspection has been adapted to the "new normal" established by COVID-19, on July 1, the Superintendency of the Environment (SMA) organized a webinar entitled "Monitoring in times of Covid-19 ”To discuss and learn about the effects that the pandemic has generated on the work of the country's regulatory agencies that are part of the National Environmental Enforcement Network (RENFA) and regulated companies.
The activity, which had more than 280 connections through the SMA YouTube channel, had the participation of the Superintendent of the Environment, Cristóbal De La Maza; the Director of the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Service (SERNAPESCA), Alicia Gallardo; the Superintendent of Sanitary Services (SISS), Jorge Rivas; the Environmental Manager of Hidronor, Gonzalo Velásquez, and representatives of Anglo American along with prominent panelists.
Regarding this activity, the Hidronor Environment Manager, Gonzalo Velásquez, stressed that “at Hidronor we are always open to share our experience. For us it is very important to comply with the regulations applicable to our activity, as well as with all the resolutions we have. As a company we are motivated to participate in this type of initiative ”.
