Monday, June 13, marked an important milestone in the environmental history of our country, as the Official Gazette published the Climate Change Framework Law, beginning to rule in order to establish the fight against climate change as a State policy and define the mechanisms that the country will use to face this phenomenon.
This Law sets a goal for the country to be carbon neutral and climate resilient by 2050, which implies changing the way we transport, feed, dress and produce energy, establishing powers and obligations at central, regional and local levels, involving concrete actions to face climate change to 17 ministries, regional governments and all the municipalities in Chile.
In the same way, the Framework Law on Climate Change also recognizes the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) that contains Chile's commitments to the international community in mitigation and adaptation to climate change, as well as the Long-Term Climate Strategy (ECLP) that details the roadmap of how the country will fulfill its commitments through concrete actions, taking into account a 30-year horizon.
To carry these out, we at Hidronor have become a strategic environmental partner for our clients and other potential ones, contributing to the mitigation of climate change with energy revaluation, recovery and recycling of waste; remediation and restoration of contaminated land; final waste disposal; analysis and characterization, among others that contribute to the industries in compliance with the established norms.
