On December 15, the Senate Committee on the Environment and National Assets approved and dispatched the bill that establishes the framework for waste management and Extended Producer Responsibility (REP), an initiative with which it is expected to progress in recycling material in Chile, whose rate today is barely 10%.
This initiative, among other relevant points, seeks to establish a general framework for waste management in our country, based on the prevention and recovery of waste. What it mainly seeks is to create awareness so that the materials that make up the waste can be recycled, reused or revalued.
