Together with Greendot we have processed almost 2 thousand tons of plastic per year, among other hazardous and non-hazardous industrial waste.
Chile produces more than 20 million tons of waste each year and, at the same time, is the second country in Latin America - after Mexico - that generates the most garbage, followed by Argentina, the Dominican Republic and Brazil, according to the report “What a Waste 2.0: A Global Snapshot of Solid Waste Management to 2050”, from the World Bank.
Given these alarming figures, and as a way to contribute to environmental sustainability, at Hidronor (in conjunction with Greendot, our subsidiary company dedicated to recycling and waste management in a transversal way) we grant comprehensive solutions for the management and treatment of hazardous and non-hazardous industrial waste, which include the six products prioritized in the REP Law.
This is how in 2023 we managed to recover 8,500 tons of hazardous and non-hazardous waste, such as: oils, fuels, packaging, metal scrap, batteries, electronic waste, copper, plastic, among others, including waste that is transformed into Liquid Alternative Fuel (CAL) and Solid Alternative Fuel (CAS). Likewise, we recycle almost 2 thousand tons of plastic per year.
By 2024, both companies plan to increase participation throughout the country in order to provide the industry with a concrete recycling and recovery solution through compliance with current regulations.
We can all contribute to the circular economy in Chile!
