Mental health in Chile
According to data from the 2021 National Health Survey, carried out by the Chilean Ministry of Health, around 30% of the working population in the country reported symptoms of work-related stress. This phenomenon has been identified as one of the main causes of occupational illness, which generates a high rate of absenteeism and low productivity. Illnesses related to stress and mental health are among the leading causes of medical leaves in Chile.
The presentation of the protocol by occupational health experts was accompanied by discussions on effective strategies to reduce the negative impact of these risks, such as the implementation of wellness programs and the promotion of an organizational culture that values the mental health of employees.
