With the aim of promoting the sustainable development of the chemical industry, ensuring the correct application of standardized processes, a virtual meeting was recently organized to present the details of the Contingency and Emergency Plan to the Association of Chemical Industrialists of the Northern Zone (Asiquim). Corporate that we have developed in case of possible accidents in the management of hazardous waste.
During the meeting, Angelica Cerda, Risk Prevention Engineer of our company, together with Pablo Seguel, commercial representative of Hidronor Chile North Zone, commented to those present (important companies in the chemical industrial sector of the country that have production facilities between the first and the third region) about our trajectory and how we implement, develop and execute our Contingency and Emergency Plan in the three waste treatment centers that we have at the national level, as well as the permanent training for the control of possible emergencies and the environmental monitoring that we carry out to develop activities associated with the treatment of hazardous waste.
Thus, our specialists took the opportunity to expose and exchange experiences about the different types of existing emergencies and how our Emergency Brigade is prepared in conjunction with the HAZMAT group (accredited in response to incidents of dangerous materials belonging to the fire department), with which the Emergency Control training is carried out in our facilities, which has resulted in the fact that, to date, we have completed 50 months without accidents with lost time as a result of the correct protocols applied.
As a summary of the meeting, both executives conclude that these types of activities are relevant to share experiences in the application of the principles of the chemical company management system called "responsible conduct" (in Hidronor we have certifications in this matter), being a global initiative promoted by the International Council of Chemical Associations ICCA (International Council of Chemical Associations) that promote the development of a safer industry.
