Within the framework of the 2018 Mining Technology Summit, the launch, during October, of the First International Guide on Mining Interoperability standards was announced.
This document is one of the results of the Technological Program for the Creation and Adoption of Mining Interoperability (Interop) and its contents will be the basis for establishing in 2022 a certification system for specific technologies, which are being applied in the industry in Chile and at the international.
Fundación Chile will be the executor of this first guide, which will not only be a contribution to mining, but also a great tool to generate opportunities in other economic sectors.
This was stated by Héctor Valenzuela, technical deputy director of this initiative "one of Interop's objectives is to establish a platform that not only contributes to mining, but also creates opportunities for entrepreneurship and innovation for other economic sectors," he said.
The Interop program has the support of Corfo, the Alta Ley Mining Program, the Strategic Investment Fund (FIE) of the Ministry of Economy; and has as strategic partners Codelco and BHP; y como coejecutores a Csiro y CodelcoTech.
