On our planet there are several substances that can pollute the environment and cause damage to the air, water or land, causing significant consequences for human health. However, there are three substances that are the most harmful to the ecosystem:
Fossil fuels
The burning of fossil fuels causes the release of harmful particles into the environment, such as carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, nitrogen oxides, and sulfur oxides.
Toxic chemicals
Water pollution is produced largely by toxic products discharged into waterways. These pollutants accumulate as sediment at the bottom of the water, contaminating even animals and humans that consume it in a primary or secondary way.
Trash
The accumulation of solid waste in landfills contributes enormously to soil contamination, however, thanks to the implementation of waste treatment plants, it has been possible to reduce the magnitude of the damage caused to the land.
In addition to the damage that these substances can cause to our planet, they also cause significant damage to people's health. Therefore, the plan to reduce all types of both hazardous and non-hazardous waste is in the interest of a better future.
